Mary Palada, 95, of Holts Summit, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Summit Villa in Holts Summit. She was born on November 21, 1922, in Valier, Illinois, the daughter of the late Mike and Mary (Mrla) Zupanich. Mary was a 1940 graduate of Valier Community High School in Valier, Illinois.

She was united in marriage on June 1, 1946, at the Mt. Pleasant Church in Valier, Illinois to John Palada who preceded her in death on September 7, 1993. A homemaker, Mary enjoyed sewing, reading, doing cross word puzzles, and together with her husband, she loved going in the fall to Mt.

Pleasant to pick hickory nuts. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy (Mark) Sauerwein, St. Charles; two sons, Mike (Debbie) Palada, Tebbetts; John A. Palada, St. Louis; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, John Zupanich.
