Obituary for Carl Morris Mr. Carl J. Morris, age 81 years, of Bonnots Mill, Mo. , died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Carl was born July 27, 1936 in Mexico, Mo.
the son of Everett A. and Lillian B. Hendren Morris. He was married on October 7, 1968 in Brazito, Mo. to Karen L. Bonnot.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Carl graduated from Mexico High School in Mexico, Mo. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 until 1958 and was discharge as a Corporal. Carl was employed as the Manager of the Furniture Factory at the Jefferson City Correctional Facility for thirty-six years until his retirement in 2006.
He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, woodworking, and painting. Most importantly, he cherished his time with his family, especially his grandkids. Survivors include: his wife of forty-nine years, Karen Morris; four children, John Leonard and his wife April of Eldon, Mo.
, Debbie Abel of Belle, Mo. , Denise Newton and her husband Steve of Belle, Mo. , and Shari Morris of Madison, New Jersey; two brothers, Robert Morris and his wife Judy of Ft.
Mohave, Arizona and Lee Morris and his wife Sue of the Villages, Florida; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Craig Morris, three brothers, Harold Morris, Gabe Morris, and Joe Morris, two sisters, Billie Jean Davis and Lillian Opal Wilson, and on great grandson, Dalton M. Newton. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Private graveside services and interment with military honors will be conducted at the Cadet Creek Cemetery near Bonnots Mill, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of their choice.
