Obituary for Matthew Burr Matthew Burr, 38, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 30, 2018. Born in Greensboro, NC, Matt was a lifelong resident of Piscataway. A graduate of Piscataway High School Class of 1997, Matt was a member of the High school baseball team.

He excelled at the sport which earned him a full scholarship to Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina. In addition to baseball, Matt also enjoyed the outdoors, in particular hunting and fishing. Predeceased by his parents; Kirsten and Michael Burr, surviving are his children; Hope Stramaglia and Logan Burr both of Piscataway, brother; Michael Burr (Dawn Halifko) of Piscataway, aunts and uncles; Arthur William Protin ( Barbara Howe) of New Zealand, Herbert Protin (Terri Barberi) of Randolph, Adelbert Protin (Susan Shefchik) of Wanaque, Kim Ellan Roussey (George) of Piscataway and Jean Compalingo (Paul) of Madison, Alabama and nieces and nephews; Zachary Newsom, Kirsten, Michael and Elizabeth Burr.

Also surviving are several loving extended relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 4-8pm in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854.

Cremation services will be held privately.
