Matthew Justin Toohey “Toohey”, 35, of Shelbyville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Matthew was born November 8, 1983, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Cheryl Bailey and John Toohey. He married Allysha Calvert.

Surviving are his mother, Cheryl (Richard) Carlock of Shelbyville; father, John (Christine) Toohey of Belvidere; grandmother, Rosella Mose of Ramsey; wife, Allysha Toohey of Effingham; children: Justin Dilley of Assumption, Chloe Toohey of Tower Hill, Brooklyn Calvert of Shelbyville and Kayden Toohey of Shelbyville; sisters: Amber (Brian) Lamanske of Seattle, WA, Jennifer (Matthew) Decker of Wisconsin and Cassie Hippard of Belvidere; brothers: Jonathan Toohey, Trent (Amy) Hippard, Travis (Lindsey) Hippard all of Belvidere; nine nephews and four nieces.

Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, one grandmother and his great-grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor Terry Walters officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
