Maxie’s Obituary Maxie Allen Bowden, 65, of Panama City, passed away March 6, 2019. He was born May 31, 1953 in Marianna, Florida to Dallas and Jeanette Bowden. He worked in the finance industry for 22 years.

After retirement he went on to pursue his lifelong dream of starting his own business. He opened and operated Short Stacks diners, retiring in 2006. He was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church.

He was extremely close to his family and took exceptionally good care of his mother. He was preceded in death by his father, Dallas E. (Rusty) Bowden. He is survived by his mother, Jeanette G. Bowden; sister, Charlotte Singley (Sidney); brother, Todd Bowden (Crisann); nephew, Allen Singley (Tara); niece, Jonette Kimbro (Bryan); 6 great nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Andrea Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Forest Park United Methodist Church with Dr. John Friedman and Rev. Allen Singley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to service time.

Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Those desiring to may make a donation to Forest Park United Methodist Church, 1401 West 23rd Street, Panama City, Florida 32405 in memory of Maxie Bowden.
