Obituary for Maxine M. Kunz Dateline Jasper, IN Maxine M. Kunz, age 74, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 8:05 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana. Maxine was born in Dale, Indiana, on February 16, 1944, to Ida Gogel and her husband Ray Haug. She married Ronald Kunz on May 6, 1966, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dale, Indiana.

She was a 1962 graduate of Dale High School. Maxine and her husband were co-owners of Heichelbech’s Restaurant in Jasper for 29 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

She enjoyed fishing and playing cards and was an avid I.U. Basketball, St. Louis Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers fan. Surviving are her husband, Ronald Kunz, Jasper, IN, two sons, Curt (Becky) Kunz, Jasper, IN, Steve Kunz, and his companion, Jane Wendholt, Jasper, IN, two grandchildren, Austin (Elisabeth) Kunz, Celestine, IN, and Elizabeth Kunz, Jasper, IN, three sisters, Mary Ann (Dave) Ferguson, Huntingburg, IN, Patty (Robert) Trueblood, Madison, IN, Rita (Dave) Barnett, Cincinnati, OH, two brothers, Dennis (Clara “Toots”) Gogel, St. Henry, IN, and Bill (Attilia) Gogel, Winter Haven, Florida. Preceding her in death are two brothers, Charles and Harvey Gogel.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Maxine M. Kunz will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
