Obituary for Maxine Sue Robbins Wells Frankfort – Maxine Sue Robbins Wells, age 90, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018. Services will be held at 12:00 noon at First United Methodist Church, Tuesday, October 9, 2018, with Dr. Phil Hill officiating, assisted by Rev. Gene Wells and Rev.

Mark Shepherd. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at First United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 service time on Tuesday.

Mrs. Wells was born in Jamestown, North Carolina, on September 14, 1928, to the late Odry Russell and Lollie Mae Green Robbins. She graduated as Valedictorian from Jamestown High School, class of 1946. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Education from Asbury University in 1950.

For many years, she served in childcare and as a substitute teacher. She was united in marriage on July 28, 1951, to James Thornbury Wells, who also preceded her in death. Together, they served in the Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church for 43 years, providing ministry in churches around the state.

Mrs. Wells enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling. She loved to sing, and was blessed with a beautiful voice to share with those around her. She sang in choirs for her entire adult life.

Capturing life through her camera was one of her favorite hobbies, and she always loved to share her photos with family and friends. She was kind-hearted, loving, and never met a stranger. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eloise Robbins Davis. She is survived by her children, Ramona Newman (Bill) of Frankfort, Dr. Mark Russell Wells, of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Timothy James Wells (MaryLinda), of Frankfort; sister, Peggy Robbins Alexander, of High Point, North Carolina; grandchildren, David Aaron Wells, of Nashville, Tennessee, Christian Andrew Wells, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Zachary William Newman, of Frankfort; and by one beloved great-grandchild, Luke James Wells. Serving as pallbearers will be her sons, grandsons, and son-in-law, Bill Newman.
