Meagan Lyons-Allen Wright of Seattle, Washington passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 8, 2018. Meagan was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on December 18, 1984. Meagan’s 33 years on Earth were filled with joy and laughter.

After growing up in Mooresville and attending Mooresville schools through her sophomore year at Mooresville High School, Meagan moved to Spencer, Indiana where she graduated from Owen Valley High School in 2003. Meagan graduated from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana in 2007 with a B.A. in social work. After graduating, Meagan moved with several of her closest friends to Austin, TX.

It was there where she met her husband, soulmate, and best friend. During her time in Austin, Meagan worked as an After-School Coordinator for Paredes Middle School where she was known as “Miss Meagan” to her students who loved her. Most recently, Meagan has been working as an assistant general manager of Jack’s BBQ in Seattle.

Meagan touched countless lives. She was, simply, a force of nature. She offered love and advice to everyone she met.

She made everyone feel like a stronger, better person. Just knowing her restored your faith in humanity and made the world feel brighter. If she knew you, she, genuinely, knew you; your birthday, your kids’ birthdays, your mom’s birthday, nothing was insignificant.

Every interaction she had was an opportunity to love and spread positivity. When she wasn’t saving the world, she was running around with her beloved husband Nik and her friends. She loved dancing, especially line-dancing and two-stepping with her Boot-scoot Troupe.

She also loved good food and drink, watching the Indianapolis Colts, laying out on the beach, exploring nature, and going to “the country”. Meagan was an amazingly talented and eclectic individual with a diverse array of interests. She often said that she dreamed of being a mechanic or seamstress, dancer, farmer, rancher, explorer, social worker, and bartender.

She was, also, one of the most handy people around and thoroughly enjoyed fixing things, which makes sense considering her capacity for fixing people. Meagan will be deeply missed by her husband Nik Wright. Meagan and Nik celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary on May 6th.

Meagan is also survived by her mother Pennie Lyons Rogers and Mark Rogers of Spencer, Indiana, and her father Randy Allen and Nancy Allen of Martinsville, Indiana. She leaves behind loving siblings Emily (Isaiah) Ogle, Brad (Joy) Allen, Beth (Jim) Copsey, Michelle Rogers, Jessica Conley, Nicole Hittle, Andrew Conley, and Austin Conley. Meagan also leaves wonderful memories with countless adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Wherever Meagan lived, she lived her life to the fullest and her world is full of people who basked in the glow of her amazing, loving spirit and approach to life. Meagan was a special light to all who were blessed with her presence. One of Meagan’s sisters described her this way – “Meagan lit up this dark world and she lightened the weight of the hardships we each carried.

There was no other person who exemplified friendship, love, acceptance, forgiveness, kindness, or thoughtfulness like she did. She brought us all so much joy. She listened.

She made us laugh and her own laughter was contagious. She celebrated even our smallest victories. She made us cry with her sentiments.

She literally was always speaking in a high decibel. She never knew a stranger and for that reason brought all those around her happiness. She brought people together.

She gave sincere compliments and remembered every date. She put effort into making people feel good and she put others first. She loved her family, her friends, and everyone loved her”.

Meagan’s family is hosting a Celebration of Life Gathering on Wednesday, May 16, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Jones Crossing Banquet Center next to Jones Mortuary in Mooresville, IN.
