Obituary for Melnee Mitchell Melnee (Mama, Mom, Mimi) Ivey Mitchell of Newnan, Georgia died, Friday, April 6, 2018 in her home surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Barnes Ivey, son, Joshua Dean Ivey, parents, Tom and Maxine Norton and brother, Norman Norton. She is survived by her beloved husband, Gerald Mitchell, Newnan; daughter, Debbie Peddle, Windham, NH; sons, Billy Ivey (and Bethany), Birmingham, AL; and Scott Ivey (and Alison), Peachtree City, GA; daughter, Angela Richardson (and Michael), Stockbridge, GA; son, Jake Mitchell, Stockbridge, GA; son, Andrew Mitchell (and Adrian), Newnan, GA; and her 16 precious grandchildren: Austin Richardson, Anna Beth Ivey, Aubree Mitchell, Mikayla Richardson, Cailyn Peddle, Will Ivey, Ben Ivey, Evan Peddle, Merrie Cannon Ivey, Emily Anne Ivey, Abe Ivey, Aly Peddle, Ashlynn Mitchell, Quinn Ivey, Sam Ivey, and AJ Mitchell.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held on April 22, 2018 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Flat Creek Baptist Church, with a visitation and fellowship beginning at 2 o’clock. Reverend Bill Priester and Pastor Josh Saefkow officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you simply love others the way Melnee did.
