Obituary for Melvin Gibbs Melvin Dewayne Gibbs age 83 of Linden, AL died September 30, 2018 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home. He was born April 8, 1935 in Demopolis, AL to Elmer and Etta Gibbs. He was a retired automobile mechanic and a member of Providence Baptist Church.

He is survived by his two sons, Melvin Dewayne “Wayne” (Pam) Gibbs, Jr. of Linden, AL; and Bobby (Carla) Gibbs of Linden, AL; daughter, Gail Gibbs Gardner of Myrtlewood, AL; brother, Ronnie (Carolyn) Gibbs of Linden, AL; sister, Jean Osburn of Linden, AL; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Burford Gibbs; daughter, Judy Gibbs Zimmerman; parents, Elmer and Etta Gibbs; three brothers, James Gibbs, Thurman Gibbs, and Leon Gibbs; and one sister, Marie Sullivan. Visitation will be held at Providence Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time.
