Obituary for Melvin Lee Hill Melvin Lee Hill, 76, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at his home. Born February 2, 1942, in Gaffney, SC, he was the son of Louzettie Henderson Hill of Gaffney, SC and the late Cole Ligon Hill. He was the husband of the late Nancy Ann Crocker Hill.

Mr. Hill was a U. S. Army National Guard veteran and an avid hunter. He began his pipefitting career with Daniels Construction and retired from Hoechst Celanese. He was a member of Pacolet Road Baptist Church in Gaffney.

Surviving are his children, Robert Lee Hill and Ronnie Lynn Hill, both of Gaffney, SC, Russ Lee (Dena) of Spartanburg, SC, and Jane Simpson of Union, SC; grandchildren, Kristin Motts of the home, Brandy Simpson (Corey) of Spartanburg, SC, Matt Etling of Union, SC, and Landon Etling of New Jersey; great-grandchildren, Lilly Motts, Corey and Jack Simpson, and Amalie Etling; and siblings, James Hill, Roy Hill (Sybil), Terry Hill (Judy), and Kathy McMurray (Winfred). In addition to his father and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Del Lee; and grandson, Kent Lee. No services will be conducted at this time.
