Obituary for Merle Elmo Roberts NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – The family of Merle Elmo Roberts is saddened by the sudden death from mucosal melanoma on June 9, 2018. Elmo retired from Central Freight Lines and thanks to the dedication of his good friend, Marlene Champion, he was able to see his friends from Central, because Marlene planned reunions twice a year. Merle loved his ranching and his cattle.

Elmo and Betty were long time members of Haltom Road Baptist Church. Elmo was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ada Roberts; and his best friend, Sonny Gibson, just two weeks ago. Survivors: Wife of 66 years, Betty; children, Perry Roberts and wife, Cindy, Joe Roberts and wife, Sheri, Susan Roberts, Luanne Roberts; his bonus daughter, Gloria Barnes and husband, James; sisters, Clarice, Wanda, and Helen; adored grandchildren, Travor, Jay, Sarah, Austin, Megan, and last but not least, Jim; many special nieces and nephews; and his loyal canine buddies, Dixie and Smokey.
