Merle A. (Farr) Messer, age 93, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2018 at Wingate at Wilbraham. Merle was born on October 11, 1924 to the late Albert and Flora Belle (Vinton) Farr. She was the oldest living member of the former Glendale United Methodist Church in Wilbraham.

She worked at Smith and Wesson as an assembler and for many years as a salesperson at Liberty Bakery. Merle enjoyed being with her family, traveling, watching sports and dining out. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Arthur R. Messer in 2012.

She leaves 5 children, Judith Rickson and her husband Stephen of Monson; Jeanne Molinari of Wilbraham; Chery Newhouse and her fiancé Anthony Manarite of Monson; Christy Bergeron and her husband Bruce of Monson, and Rich Messer of Ludlow; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-6 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd. , Wilbraham.
