Merry Ann Francom February 21, 1964 ~ April 28, 2019 Merry Ann Francom, 55, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019. She was born on February 21, 1964, in Long Beach, CA, the daughter of William Cecil and Darlene Jean Shoemaker Mayes. She was raised in California and spent some time in South Carolina as a young woman before returning to California.

She raised two children and was a devoted single mother. She served in the Superior and Municipal Court Systems in both California and Utah her whole adult life. Merry fell in love with one of her best friends from the early 1990s, James A. Francom.

They dated for a couple of years and married in the spring of 2007. Merry and Jim settled in Salt Lake City in 2008. They later moved to Ogden, which she loved.

Merry was diagnosed in September of 2017 with triple negative breast cancer. She fought bravely, without complaint, until her passing. Merry was the most loving, caring, understanding and giving person you could know.

She was brilliant outgoing, helpful, and possessed a quick wit. Merry will be truly missed. Merry is survived by her husband, James; children, Kathleen (Jose) Casillas of Escalon, CA, Christopher J. Pinheiro of South Ogden, and Meagan E. Francom of Modesto, CA; eight grandchildren; and sisters, Sheryl Moulton of Camas Valley, OR and Diane Andree of Phoenix, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Interment will take place at a later date. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
