Michael Gary Pogue September 05, 1950 – February 28, 2019 Sign Guestbook Michael Gary Pogue 9/5/1950 – 2/28/2019 Michael Gary Pogue, 68, passed away February 28, 2019 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fairfax, Oklahoma on September 5, 1950 to Carl and Vina Pogue. Mike was only five years old when he moved to Alamogordo.

From May of 1968 to May 1972, Mike served in the United States Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge at the rank of sergeant. After returning form honorable service he adjusted to civilian life back in Alamogordo where he then met his best friend and soul mate, Brenda Pruiett. They later married in 1973, had their daughter, Michelle, and their son, CJ.

Mike then moved his family to Las Cruces, where he worked in construction and later became the president and owner of CynaCon, Inc He is survived by his daughter, Michelle, and her husband, John Lovelace; his son, CJ Pogue and his finance, Amanda. He was the best Papa in the world to his six grandchildren, Cody and Caitlyn Lovelace, Michael, Christopher, Abigail and Codie.

He left behind his sweet mama, Vina; his brother, Dean (Netta) Pogue; sisters, Susan (Blair) Amstutz and Debra (Ken) Vessels. Nike also leaves behind his mother-in-law, LaNelva Pruiett and his brother-in-law, Gary Pruiett and tons of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. We can’t forget his dog, Aussie!

Mike’s family is saddened to have him leave, however they know he is in a better place with his father, Carl, and his sister, Janet, and are comforted with the knowledge that he is back with the love of his life, Brenda, together again forever. Celebration of Life will be held at the family home March 15th at 2 pm. Graveside service at a later date.

The Pogue family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O’Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
