Michael’s Obituary Michael G. Lamb, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at home under the care of Niagara Hospice. He was 51. He was born in Lewiston, New York on October 1, 1967, the only son of Gerald W. and Catherine (Florence) Lamb.

Michael was a proud retired United States Navy Veteran. He served our country for 20 years during Desert Storm. The first ship Michael was deployed on was the on was the USS San Jacinto (CG-56) from 1995-1999 and lastly serving aboard the the USS Ross (DDG-71), Norfolk, VA from 2002-2005.

He received the National Defense Service Medal (2); Good Conduct Medal (5); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4) Kuwait Liberation Medal; Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Navy “E” Ribbon; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2); Armed Forces Service Medal; Sea Service Deployment Medal Ribbon (5); Navy Unit Commendation(2) and the Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star (2). He was a member of the American Legion Post 67, Snow Hill, MD. Upon his discharge, he received his Masters Degree in Program Management.

He worked for Lockheed Martin throughout his illness as a system engineer manager and a field engineer manager until retiring in August 2018. A very active man, he loved bicycling and competing in triathlons. He also enjoyed brewing beer and was an avid Football fan, especially the Oakland Raiders and Virginia Tech.

He is survived by his wife, the former Shelby Bennett, married in 1988; his daughter, Devin M. Lamb serving in the United States Army; siblings, Diane (Rick) Vanni of Lewiston; Barbara (Robert) Freeborn of Northville, MI; Catherine (Stephen) Pochatko of Pendleton and Jacqueline Curry of Wheatfield; sisters in law, Stacey (Andy) Ezak; Sherri (Tammy) Watt; nieces and nephews, Nina and Nikki Vanni; Kristin (Dan) Andrews; Pete (Natali) Horab; Mackenzie (Nick) Konieczny; Brittanie (Nate) Phillips; Stephen (Maren) Pochatko; Nick Curry; Joshua (Meredith); Amber, Nick and Adam Ezak and John Watt. Family present Friday from 4-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC. , 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 11 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Prince of Peace location, with the Rev. Slawomir Siok SAC officiating. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.

The interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made to John Hopkins Hospital or to Niagara Hospice.
