Michael Monroe, age 66, of Nevins Lake, formerly of Lansing, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home under the loving care of family, friends, and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Donald Edward & Irene Elizabeth (Flannery) Monroe, he was born on April 17, 1952 in Lansing. On October 9, 1971, in Lansing, he married Vicki Lynn Raatz and together they raised two sons and enjoyed almost 47 years of marriage.

After retiring from General Motors, where Michael worked as an electrician for 36 years, he and Vicki made their home at Nevins Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janet. Surviving are his wife, Vicki Monroe; two sons, Benjamin & Jaca Monroe and Patrick Monroe; three grandchildren, Taylor, Liam, and Mila; six sisters, Kathleen VanZwoll, Patricia & William Semrau, Barb & Doug Ely, Amy & Roberto Garcia, Laura & Rick Canfield, and Carol & Ted Archer; a brother, John & Deb Monroe; a brother-in-law, Jeff & Julie Fee; a sister-in-law, Ellen & Bruce Wigginton; and several nieces and nephews.
