Michael’s Obituary Michael Randolph Sims was born May 19, 1947 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Millie Geri Randolph (Sims) and Oscar Sims, Jr He was raised on the South side of Ypsilanti, Michigan. He passed away on April 21.

2019 at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 2 days. In his teen years he was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Harris, who had three children, Murvin, Ledra and Lynn Harris of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Michael graduated from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in 1966.

Michael loved to run track and play football; both of which he was very good at. Michael had 3 brothers, Raymond, Oscar III, and Geoffrey (deceased), sisters Dorothy, Linda (deceased) and Vanessa of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Brothers Luke, Matthew, and Joey and sister, Melissa are siblings from his father’s second marriage.

Michael also had numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael married Alice Ruth Harry Norwood (Prue) in September 1966. This marriage lasted for 25 years.

After Michael and Alice divorced they remained friends until Alice passed away in 2010. Michael and Alice raised four children together, Mary, Michael Jr., Maggie and Jessica. They had 7 grandchildren, Qunton Dennie, Eric Parker Jr., Alisa Sims, Josie Tunnell, Brayden Tunnell, Brianna Tunnell, Ashley Jo Tunnell, and great grandchild, Addilynn Tunnell.

Michael then married Barbara J. Wilson. Michael helped raise Barbara’s two sons, Doug and Bernard. Michael served his country for 15 years part of which was during the Vietnam War.

He made rank of Staff Sergeant and (E + 6) and was Honorably Discharged. After serving his country, Michael worked for the City of Tulsa, Oklahoma as a counselor for 15 years assisting veterans. Michael traveled all over the world.

He loved life and lived his life every single day. Michael enjoyed all types of music, he was the life of the party and you would always see him on the floor dancing because he loved to dance and if you were not up dancing, just watching Michael would make you want to get up and dance and enjoy yourself. Michael never met a stranger.

Michael will be terribly missed by many but be assured he will be looking down upon us all and watching out for us. A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Bristow Housing Authority, 111 S. Chestnut in Bristow.
