Obituary for Michael Ray “Mike” Coody Michael Ray “Mike” Jackson Coody, was born on January 28, 1963 to Nora Evelyn Wilson Coody and Wesley Valson “Whitey” Jackson Sr. in Burnet, Texas and raised in San Antonio, TX. Mike passed away on September 27, 2018 at the age of 55 after a heart stent operation in San Antonio, Tx. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1982 where he was a record breaking middle linebacker for the football team.
He enjoyed competitive karate as a 1st degree black belt and was thankful to his mentor Jon Choo. Growing up on the South Side of San Antonio he enjoyed working with his father and family at Jackson Auto Parts on Mission Road and Southcross, there he learned how to fix anything with nothing the old school way. His life was filled with things and people he loved: His children Michael, Michaela and Logan riding his motorcycle with his many friends, spending time at the Texas coast fishing and camping, and spending quality time with his family.
He loved to make people laugh and was a natural born prankster. He recently retired from City Public Service Energy after 29 years of service as a Journeyman Welder. Mike ended almost every phone conversation with “I love you”.
He was and always will be Mama’s “Little Precious”. Mike is survived by his children: Michael, Michaela and Logan Coody and their Mother, Dawn McDowell Moore; Sister: Debbie Harris; Nephew, Daniel Rivas; Nieces, Stephanie Eiland and Kristin Tips; Girlfriend, Jackie Philson; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends. Pallbearers are: Michael Coody, Logan Coody, Daniel Rivas, Eliot Maldonado, William Schenkel, James Philson, David Padier and Doug Mikes.
