Michael’s Obituary Michael (Mike) D. Rayser, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019, at The University of Kansas Medical Center. Mike was born on July 17, 1956 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Merlin E. and Anna Marie (Bott) Rayser. He was a 1974 graduate of Immaculata High School.

He was a lifelong crop and cattle farmer. Mike started working with his grandparents on the family farm since about the age of 7. He loved animals and conservation work on the farm.

He received the Kansas Bankers Association Award for Soil Conservation in 2010. Mike was Chairman of the Board of Rural Water District No 5 for many years and retired from that position in 2018. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merlin Rayser on September 18, 2007. He is survived by his mother, Anna Marie Rayser, Leavenworth, 2 sisters, Marilyn Thompson, Easton, KS and Marlene (Kevin) Morley , Leavenworth, KS, 2 nieces and 2 nephews, Michelle (Shane) White, Kevin (Erin) Thompson, James Morley and great nephew Cooper and Sarah Morley and great niece Mariah. He is missed dearly by his family and pets.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Davis Funeral Chapel from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a rosary at 2:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 18, 2019. Burial will follow at Mt.

Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leavenworth County Humane Society or animal shelter of your choice.
