Ricky’s Obituary Ricky Howard Fanning courageously lost his fight to cancer March 21, 2019, at The KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, after battling the disease for 3 years. Ricky lived in Leavenworth, KS. , and, lived a happy, full life, spending his most joyful days with his family and friends.

He worked in the tile and marble industry most of his life and later worked in the maintenance department retiring from Fort Leavenworth. He was born in Cameron, MO. , to Eugene Howard Fanning and Shirley Ann Fanning (Yeamans) on March 15, 1949.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Howard Fanning, mother, Shirley Ann Yeamans; step-mother, Laverne Fanning; by his wife, Kay Fanning; brothers, Darwin Layton Fanning, and Harlan Fanning; half-brother, Randy Fanning and daughter, Susan Bradley. Ricky is survived by step-father, Dell Yeamans, Jr.; half-brother, Dell (Pete) Yeamans III; half-sisters, Shaun Yeamans, Pamela Yates and Terri Moppin; step-sisters, Carol Cox, and Pat Fuqua; daughter, Gina Sifers and son, Ricky Fanning. Ricky also had 6 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Other special family and friends include, sister-n-laws Kathy Fanning and Carol Yeamans; step-brother-n-law, Mike Cox; friends, Bill and Jack Card and families, Terry Thomas, Griff and Maura and Annie Warren. The graveside service will be on April 4, 2019 at 2:30 P.M. at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to “liver cancer” research at The University of Kansas Cancer Center in memory of Ricky: www.
