Obituary for Michael Shipley Funeral Services for Michael Shipley, 68 of Tyler, will be 12 noon, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Erica Hedricks officiating. Mr. Shipley was born October 29, 1949 in Gary, Indiana to the late Alfred and Florence Shipley. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

He came home to work as a carpet layer until his retirement. He enjoyed working on cars and working with his hands in the shop woodworking. He also loved his cats and looked forward to his weekend breakfast with Mr. Pat.

He is predeceased by his parents, a sister, Constance Secor, nephew, Chris Wortham, as well as an infant brother, Alfred. He is survived by his daughter, Wendi O’Neill of San Angelo and her husband Brandon and children Chance and Mason Taylor and daughter, Shanna Persall of Rusk and her husband Kevin and their children James, Christopher, and Dayton Woods, sisters: Sandra (Roger) Knight of Palestine, Beth (Ron) Martin of Houston, and Suzi (Rich) Kenney of Stuart, Florida. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 until service time.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jon Staines, Scott Helm, Larry Ponds, Kristian Catalano, Christian Romano, Erica Hedricks, and James, Christopher, and Dayton Woods. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Michael Shipley please visit our Sympathy Store.
