Obituary for Michael T. Lavelle Michael T. Lavelle, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Independence Manor in Flemington, NJ with his loving family by his side. He was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania the son of the late Michael and Ellen Lavelle. Mr. Lavelle was a resident of Manville, NJ for the past 47 years.

He served his Country Honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Lavelle was a warehouse manager for the Rickels Corporation in South Plainfield, NJ for 26 years before retiring. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed.

Mr. Lavelle was hard working and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post #2290 in Manville, NJ. He was also a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Millstone Borough, Hillsborough, NJ.

He was predeceased by his wife Christine Lavelle in 2017 and by his son Michael J. Lavelle. He is survived by his loving daughter Michele Shimalla and Charles Kolvites of Frenchtown, NJ, by his three brothers Edward Lavelle and his wife Vivian of Allentown, NJ, George Lavelle and his wife Marlene of Warminster, Pennsylvania and Joseph Lavelle and his wife Barbara of Hockessin, Delaware and by his sister Patricia Nesticl of Hershey, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Shannon, Brittany and Brett and by one great-grandchild Conner.

The viewing will be on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 8 to 10 AM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd. , Manville, NJ. The Funeral will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 34 Yorktown Road, Millstone Borough, Hillsborough, NJ 08844.
