Michael’s Obituary Michael Trahan was born on September 23, 1966 in Lafayette, LA to John and Vernice Trahan. He graduated from Acadiana High School in 1985 and attended USL. Mike worked in retail most of his life and provided Acadiana’s residence with quality customer service whenever they were fortunate enough to be his client.

In his younger years, Mike could often be found playing basketball or exploring the outdoors with his friends. He was an avid swimmer with a love of water. He enjoyed every opportunity he had to travel to the beach.

He was a sports enthusiast and a loyal fan of the New Orlean’s Saints. In conversation he was fond of history, sports, current events and stories about the trials and tribulations of the retail industry. Michael Trahan died, surrounded by family, from heart failure on May 14, 2019 in Lafayette, LA at the age of 52.

Mike is survived by his older siblings, Kathleen Trahan Domingue, Robert Trahan and Nonette Trahan; his niece, Amanda Drewett and her children, his neice Elizabeth Rutledge; his nephew, Maxwell Drewett and his children, and nephew John Rutledge. He is preceded in death by his mother Vernice Mary Trahan and father John Irvin Trahan. The family would like to thank Nonette and Kathleen for being by Michael’s side throughout this struggle.

They would also like to thank the staff of the Carpenter House for their support and kindness in Michael’s final hours.
