Michelle Schuster passed away peacefully at KU Medical Center September 16, 2018 during the Church of The Resurrection 5 o’clock on-line service with God and family at her bedside. Michelle had a long and tedious battle with cancer, being first diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2016. She will infinitely be missed by her family, friends, and husband of 33 years.

Michelle was born on September 25, 1963 to Richard and Kathy Calliham in Hays, Kansas. Michelle grew up in Colby, Kansas and graduated from Colby High School. She attended Fort Hays State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Data Processing.

During her time at Fort Hays, Michelle met and married the love of her life Todd Schuster. After graduation, Michelle and Todd moved to Kansas City to start their professional careers. Michelle was passionate about her career in the IT field.

Over the next 32 years she held many technical and leadership positions at several companies that included J&M Industries, Arthur Anderson, United Telecom, Sprint, and Argus. Michelle loved to interact with her co-workers and many of them became lifelong friends. From a early age Michelle was always the spark that got her family started.

She was the one that encouraged all us to be at our best and always to try our best no matter what you were doing. Before starting a family, Michelle was passionate about dog showing and training Bernese Mountain Dogs. She was active in a local dog club and loved to travel the country showing her dogs and meeting new friends.

Once Michelle became a mom, she set out to be the best mom possible to her three children Katrina, Brandon & Ashley. She loved being a mother more than anything and always made time to participate in her children’s activities. Michelle was a Brownie Leader, Cheerleading Coach, volunteer at school, the best birthday party planner ever and the number one fan at the kid’s sporting events.

Michelle also liked the simple things in life, hanging out with family and friends, going out for a bite to eat and a movie, walks in the park or just cuddling up to watch a movie at home. Every one of us was blessed to have had Michelle in our lives. She loved life so much.

We all miss her greatly. Michelle is survived by her husband Todd Schuster and their three children, Katrina (21), Brandon (19) and Ashley (18) (Stilwell, KS). Parents – Richard and Kathy Calliham (Colby, KS).
