Mildred Lorraine “Jo” Thompson, 84, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at Joplin Health & Rehab. Jo was born June 10, 1934 in Carthage to Clarence and Opal “Sterling” Nappier. She was an administrative secretary at Steadley / Leggett & Platt for over 40 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Carthage.

She was a very active in her church, a member of the Red Hats Society and delivered Meals On Wheels. Mildred was united in marriage to Leland P. Thompson; he preceded her in death. Mildred is survived by one son, Daniel Thompson of Carthage.

Mildred was preceded in death by two brothers, Forest and Wendell Nappier; one sister, Norma Fullerton; and one niece, Kathy Fullerton. Memorial services will held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.
