William George McKinney, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage. William was born November 26, 1927 in Baxter Springs, KS to William George McKinney and Clara “Cook” Kelsey. William served in the United States Army during the Korean War and the United States Navy during World War II.

He worked as an engineer overseas and after his service he returned to Baxter Springs in the 1980’s. He was an avid student of various martial arts. William is survived by several nieces and nephews, along with his good friend, John Karriman.

William was preceded in death by three sisters, Clare Jean Arbuthnot, Helen Lawellin and Margaret Hunt. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday March 30, 2019 Online condolences may be made at www. ulmerfh.com.
