Mildred Thionnet, 84, resident of Dill City, Oklahoma, was born on November 17, 1934, in Dill City, to Ira “Tip” and Ida Johnson. She passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Mildred was raised in the Burns Flat/Dill City area.

She graduated from Burns Flat Schools in 1952, where she was active in 4-H and enjoyed playing on the basketball team. Mildred married Frank Thionnet Jr. on July 3, 1953, in Wheeler, Texas. Mildred worked for the federal government for many years and retired from there.

Mildred and Frank had moved to Duncan to be closer to family. Frank passed away in January of 2014. Mildred had lost the love of her life.

She put on a brave face and continued with her life. Mildred loved visiting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her friends. She was a member of the Ray of Hope Church in Duncan.

She loved baking pies for her neighbors and checked on them frequently. Mildred always had an optimistic outlook on life even though her health was failing. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank; her precious son, Kent; her parents, Tip and Ida Johnson; one sister; and three sisters-in-law.

Survivors include her two daughters, Carla Ensey and husband David, and Sandra Hines and husband Eddie, all of Duncan; one son, Terry Thionnet and wife Cheri of Petrolia, Texas; daughter-in-law, Debbie Thionnet of Edmond; three brothers, Johnny Johnson, Mike Johnson, and Donald Johnson; one sister, Donna Kilhoffer; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Venus, Quent, Josh, Tara, Ashley, Jeni, Chelsea, and Hunter; ten great grandchildren; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leon and Helen Thionnet, Carl and Joyce Thionnet, and Lloyd and Terry Thionnet; and a host of dear family and friends. Funeral services will be held for Mildred at 1:00p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, Dill City, with Rev. Ron Roskam officiating.
