Mildred White, 70, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital of Indianapolis. She was born May 14, 1948 in Rushville, IN to the late Fred and Lois Smith. She retired from Metaldyne Corp.

in 2006. Mildred had previously worked at Western Electric in Indianapolis. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Spiceland.

Mildred enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, decorating for the holidays, and family get-togethers. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Jim White; children, Steve (Lori) Gulley of Rocky Mount, NC and Scott (Rene) Gulley of Noblesville; step-children, Mike (Tammy) White of Harrisonville, MO, Matt (Barb) White of Burleson, TX, Kim Williams of Winchester; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl (Irene) Smith of Indianapolis, Herbie (Sharon) Smith of Syracuse, Allen Smith of Carthage and Dave (Patty) Smith of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Randy Gross officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, February 11th at the funeral home.
