Milton E Johnson August 24, 1931 – March 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Milton “Moose” Johnson, 87, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at UnityPoint West in Rock Island, IL. Services will be Wednesday, March 6th, at 12 Noon, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a 2-hour visitation prior to the services beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, with Military Rites accorded by Moline American Legion Post #246.

Memorials may be made to the Moline Booster Club. “Moose” was born August 24, 1931, in Moline, to Elmer and Anna Rose (Smarsty) Johnson. He graduated from Moline High School, and loved playing on Moline’s wonderful football team that went undefeated in the 1950’s.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and then was employed by Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric Co for many years. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline, and the Moline Boosters Club. He enjoyed going to all Moline sporting events, M-Men’s Football, going to the casino, and having morning coffee at Hy-Vee with friends.

In earlier years he enjoyed Big Band Ballroom Dancing. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, his M-Men’s buddies, and special friends, Leonard, Marty, and Danny. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Don and Ted, sister, Jackie, and a special niece, Nancy Gardner.
