Reidsville, NC – It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Minister James Edward Long, Jr. 39, of 753 Long Rd. Reidsville, NC, who passed away Monday, July 2, 2018. He was the son of the late James Edward Long, Sr. and Nettie Ann Lownes Long, who survives was born October 5, 1978 in Rockingham County, NC.

Minister James Long Jr. was a member of Jones Cross Road Baptist Church where he served as the youth Minister, a member of the men’s ministry, and he sang with the male chorus. He was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School (class of 2008) and worked at the NC Dept. of Public Safety before retirement.

He was also a veteran of the United States Army. His survivors are: wife of the home, Sherri C. Long; mother, Nettie Lownes Long of Reidsville, NC; two sons Rae Kwon Clark of Charlotte, NC, and Jamar McDonald of the home; one brother, Mark Anthony Long (Arica) of Japan; one sister Shan Monique Long of Wilmington, NC; four nieces; aunts; uncles; other relatives and friends.
