OBITUARY Molly Ali November 23, 1952 – December 22, 2018 Salem-Molly Ali passed away peacefully on December 22, 2018, after a long courageous battle and fight against cancer, surrounded by beloved family and friends who will remember her forever as easy to love, and generous beyond measure. She was born November 23, 1952, in San Fernando, Trinidad. She moved to the US around 1979, first living in New York and then settling in Connecticut.

Her true love was always her family, a trait she showed early as a child in Trinidad, where she would fight anyone who tried to pick on her siblings. When she grew up, her three boys became her focus, whom she raised with a generous love that became her trademark. She loved each of them completely and uniquely.

While being a mother was the central joy of Molly’s life, she was also a dedicated employee outside the home, first at Sears where she met her loyal friend Minda and then 30 years at Millstone, where her career as a Nuclear Site and Access Representative brought her great satisfaction and a circle of lifelong friends. She was a member of Leffingwell Baptist Church and enjoyed her time spent there, whether it was at bible study, Sunday services, or fellowship with other parishioners, who loved and supported Molly in her final days. She also found joy in painting, word searches, cross stitch, and gardening.

Throughout her illness, Molly’s positivity and hope never wavered, despite the odds. Her faith and commitment to family carried her through and kept her spirits up, even when the prognosis was less than bright. Molly’s family wishes to thank Dr. Bulgaru and the staff at Eastern Connecticut Hematology and Oncology in Norwich, for their excellent love and care over the last several years.

Molly is predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Sarah Arjoon; siblings, David and Daniel; and long-term partner and husband, Russell Luty. She is survived by a large circle of family and friends who cherished her. This includes her siblings, Jean, Gloria, and Brenda; her sons Ryan “Ricky” Khan, Brent Ali and his wife Sarah, with whom she resided until her final days; and Barry Ali, who blessed her with her beautiful grandson Camdyn Ali.

She is also survived by her best friend Asha Ramsingh, who was more like a sister; and her nephew, Russell Khan, whom which she shared a special bond and always brought a smile to her face. In her honor and memory, Molly’s family asks that you “find a little love in your heart” and do as she always did: put family first and find ways to brighten the lives of those around you.
