OBITUARY Montese B. Wallace Passed away on October 21, 2018 On Sunday morning, October 21, 2018, Montese was reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, Robert Byrd Wallace. A daughter of the late Ernest Lloyd Blankenship and Lectie Mae Morton Blankenship, Montese was born September 14, 1922. Following graduation from Harding High School, she married Robert and for many years they worked together in the bakery of the A&P.

Montese enjoyed the simple things of life – being a good wife and mother, dancing, canning, tending roses and sending encouraging cards to her friends. Also, she loved arts and crafts, especially needlepointing. The walls of her home are a gallery displaying the many fine works of her talents.

Montese is survived by her son, Robert L. Wallace, whose care for her especially during the last few years is unsurpassed. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 25th by the graveside in Elmwood Cemetery. A spray of yellow roses will be placed on her casket in memory of the yellow roses she and her mother planted and tended for many years at the nearby grave of her brother who died from polio as a child.

Robert expresses his appreciation to the staff of Olde Knox Commons for the dedicated care to his mother while she was a resident there.
