Monty McWilliams, 69, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away March 14, 2019. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Carlsbad Cemetery with Mike Veilleux officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Monty was born February 25, 1950 in Lincoln, NE to Merle and Ethel (Morrison) McWilliams. He graduated from high school in 1968 in Colorado. Monty moved to Carlsbad in 2004.

He married Bobbie January 7, 2006. Monty worked as a chemist at Intrepid Potash for many years before retiring in 2018. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an animal lover.

Monty was preceded in death by his father and wife, Bobbie McWilliams. Survivors are his son, Jeremy McWilliams; daughter, Amanda Pond; son, Cody Walker and wife, Tirzah; mother, Ethel McWilliams; grandchildren: Jackson, Colton, Augustus, Jayden and Nolan; brother, Tom McWilliams and wife, Carla and one niece. Honorary pallbearers are Tom McWilliams, Jeremy McWilliams, Cody Walker, Robert Zirkle, Jackson Pond, Colton Walker, Augustus Pond, Jayden Humphus and Nolan Pond.

Memorial contributions may be made to Carlsbad Community Foundation, Carlsbad Fire Dept.
