Myrtle O Lee , February 08, 1928 — April 23, 2018

On Monday, April 23, 2018 God called one of His angels home. Myrtle Odessa Lee was born on February 8, 1928 to Maude Edna Leigh-Turner and William Mills Turner in New Hope, North Carolina. She was the fifth of fourteen children — all of whom preceded her in death, leaving only Maude Martin (Auntie Petitty) and one sister-in-law, Jessie Turner – both of Brooklyn, New York.

Myrtle was educated in New Hope and Winfall, North Carolina. After graduating from high school, she migrated to New York City where she became a member of the Holy House Of Prayer For All People, Inc. where she remained a member for more than fifty years until her death. Myrtle worked for the Social Security Administration until she retired.

She was a kind-hearted person who would help anyone who was in need. Although preceded in death by her sons: Charles White (fondly known as “Charlie”), James Lee (fondly called “Arthur”), her granddaughter Crystal Johnson, and one special great-grandson Cardell Lee; Myrtle leaves to cherish her memory, her only daughter Alberta Lee; her son-in-law Willie Murchison; two daughters-in-law: Denise Lee, widow of Arthur (of Covington, Georgia) and Vivian White, widow of Charles (of Brooklyn, New York); nine grandchildren: Sabrina Lee (Jay), Tanica Murchinson, La’Troy Murchinson (Becky Hunt), Tialisha Caldwell, Kamar Lee (Sonya), Latoya Crumpler, Nateeta Lee, Narissa White and Aretta White; twenty-seven great-grands, four great-great-grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family, and church family — all of whom she loved very much.
