Myrtle M. Barr, 96, formerly of Easton, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 9, 2019 in Gracedale. Born October 1, 1922, in Pittstown, NJ, she was a daughter of the late John and Bessie (Tigar) Little. Her husband of 60 years, Martin R. Barr, died in 1998.

Myrtle retired in 1984 from the former Pioneer Sportswear, Stockertown. She had worked in various area garment factories. She was of the Methodist faith.

Myrtle was a life member of the Easton Elks 121, Ladies Auxiliary, where she served on various committees. She enjoyed taking care of her family. Surviving are a son, Robert A. Barr and his wife Arlene, of Williams Township; a daughter, Nancy M. Bartholomew and her husband Ronald, of Glendon; five grandchildren, Dawn Barr Frey and her husband Kenneth, of Florida, Scott Barr and his wife Melissa, of Macungie, Thomas Bartholomew and his wife Robyn, of Easton, Tami Barr Chomicz and her husband Kenneth, of CT and Chris Barr and his wife Anne, of Williams Township; a sister-in-law, Joan Barr, of Nazareth; 11 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, John “Jack” Barr and an infant, Martin R. Barr, Jr., a grandson, Keith A. Bartholomew, six brothers and five sisters. Services will be held at 11am Tuesday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 602 W. Berwick Street, Easton. Call Tuesday 10:30-11am in the funeral home.
