NADINE T. HERRERA Nadine T. Herrera 100 years of age passed away on December 25, 2018 at Armour Oaks Nursing facility in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on March 22, 1918 in Muskogee (Fort Gibson) Oklahoma. The family moved to Coffeeville, Kansas where she spent most of her early childhood, until relocating to Kansas City.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1936 and participated in the Joy De Voir clubs for many years. She married Jose Herrera in 1937 and had one child, Paula Ann (Pate) who preceded her in death. Nadine retired from Woolf Brothers Department Store in 1983 and enjoyed an active life with family in Kansas City and Phoenix and was the matriarch of her late sister’s (Osceola C. North) family after her death in 1991.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory granddaughter Natalie Pate (Colo); nephew Robert North (KC); niece Phyllis Williams (Phoenix), Barbara Tolbert (KC), Carolyn Love (Phoenix); great nieces Stacey Tolbert (Seattle), Fatima Weaver (KC), Kimberley Love-Ness (Phoenix), Marshawna Love (Las Vegas); great nephew Mustaafa Ansare (KC) great-great nephews Brandin Tolbert and Joshua Tolbert 9Seattle); and a host of relatives, friends neighbors, caretakers, and strangers she just met, who will remember her kindness, her spirit, her feistiness and her strong will to keep going until she couldn’t anymore. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 22, 2019 at Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Linwood Chapel. Private disposition.
