Nancy H. Hobbs, 81 of Leawood, KS, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Sat.

Jan. 12, 2019, at 2 PM at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS. A short reception will be held immediately following the service at the church.

Nancy was born on October 23, 1937 in Topeka, KS to John F. Harbes and Virginia Brownlee. She was a graduate of Topeka High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. On Aug 23, 1960, Nancy married Robert B. Hobbs in Topeka, KS.

They were married for 52 years and lived in Johnson County for the entirety. She was an active volunteer with both Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City and the Junior League of Kansas City. Nancy’s greatest joys in life were her family, her incredible circle of friends, and her church.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, John and Virginia Harbes; and her sister; Joan Harbes. She is survived by her children; Jody Gustafson of Overland Park, KS; John (Michele) Hobbs of Bainbridge Island, WA; and six grandchildren; Kristen, James and Caroline Gustafson; Robert, William and Benjamin Hobbs. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to KU Endowment in support of Alzheimer’s and Dementia Research.
