Obituary for Nancy Jo Braden NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – Nancy Braden, daughter of Lamont Gregson and Martha Pearson De Jong, was born May 17, 1932. Nancy was born in her grandparents home in New Sharon, Iowa and lived with them until she was four. She attended a one room country school.

She rode her horse to school. She received her GED in 1967. Nancy always loved horses, music and travel.

She got her horse, “Prince”, for her 13th birthday. In later years, she had dogs that she enjoyed and were her friends and pets. Molly was her most recent and she was treated as a special family member.

Nancy loved to sing, and was in a church quartet with three guys and sang together for several years. She loved country and gospel music. She would travel to hear special groups when they performed at Johnnie High’s.

She did retouching on photographs and was employed by several photographers in Iowa and Texas. Nancy did many crafts including oil painting, crocheting afghans, embroidering and putting puzzles together with her friends at the assisted living place. She enjoyed traveling and did sales for photographers and later sold frames for several places.

She enjoyed going to Kansas and Iowa to visit family and friends when her health permitted it. She and Phil enjoyed taking several big cruises together. They saw several different islands and enjoyed their time there.

On May 29, 2018 Nancy died at a local health and rehabilitation facility in Bedford, and she had been there a short time. Before that she and Phil lived at Ashwood Court senior living community and enjoyed the people and activities there so very much. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Braden; her sister, Betty Coulson, and three great-grandsons Nancy is survived by her three children, Carol (Don) Acheson of Morland, Kan.
