NANCY L. HENRY July 20, 1942 – February 20, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book Nancy Louise Henry, 76, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2019. Nancy was a great Woman, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother born on July 20, 1942 in Harvey, IL. She was the daughter of the late Frank Froschauer and Louise Hansen Froschauer.

She leaves behind a family that she was very proud of and loved dearly. Nancy was world-renowned for her lack of patience and for not holding back on anything. She always gave you her opinion even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear, but she staunchly loved and protected those around her and in true Nancy fashion, wasn’t afraid to let you know how she felt.

She had an adventurous spirit, traveling with her daughter to places in the US, Mexico, and Belize. She spent weekends exploring the best of Chicago restaurants with her son Troy, Kris and Jake. Terry and family cooked out with her and they had family dinners as often as they could.

She also spent time with the great friends she was surrounded with. Nancy was very blessed to have many long-time friends like Anne Meyer of Sycamore, her JCP crew, the Carson’s gang and others that she spent hours with seeing plays, listening to music or just going to lunch. Nancy spent all of her working career in the Retail Industry.

The majority of her career was at JC Penney, then she worked atKohl’s, The Little Traveler and Carson’s. In all of these places, she made numerous friends and acquaintances. She could talk with anyone and was an individual that always wanted to serve and help.

Nancy will be sorely missed and survived by her brother David Froschauer (Karen) of Iowa, David’s children; Kristine Dawkins, Deb Duthie both of Iowa. Her three children and their families; Tammy Henry of Memphis, TN, Troy (Kris) Henry of Big Rock, IL and Terry (Charla) Henry of Kenosha, WI. Her grandchildren: Jake Henry, Ty Henry, Drew Henryand Jessa Henry and two seven (7) week old great grandchildren born to Ty Henry that she got to see and hold in her last days with us.

In her true fashion of wanting to help others and her striving to constantly learn, Nancy donated her body to research to help medical professionals further the advancement of cures for diseases. As such, a private family ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held, in lieu of a service. The family asks that instead of flowers or other items you may want to give, that you donate instead to the Country Store (Thrift Store) in DeKalb, IL which is run entirely by volunteers.

All proceeds from the sale of items in the store and any cash donations made support Senior Services at five locations in DeKalb county. She enjoyed volunteering at the store helping others and her family knows that she would want support of the work of this organization to continue on. For information, visit www.
