Nancy Meverden, 79, of Wausau passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Cedar Creek Manor. She was born on June 16, 1939 in Wausau to the late Henry and Regina (Sala) Lutzke. On September 15, 1956 she married Richard “Bud” Meverden at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Wausau.

In her earlier years, Nancy had worked at Fiskars making scissors and doing seasonal work at JW Perry making wreaths for cemeteries. After Bud retired from Weyerhauser, they traveled in their motorhome all over the United States and loved visiting Branson, MO. Some of Nancy’s past times included crocheting afghans, watching movies, collecting Beanie Babies and trips to the casino.

She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Bud, two sons, Randy (Mary Krueger) of Weston, Ronald of Wausau, six grandchildren, Josh (Janelle) Meverden, Travis (Shari) Meverden, Margo (William) Sherer III, Corey Meverden, Kimberly and Kelly Meverden, five great grandchildren, Carson and Ethan Meverden, Kelsey and Mara Meverden, William Sherer IV and daughter-in-law, Terese (Paul) Meverden-Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Richard.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1104 S. 9th Ave. , Wausau. Father Robert Thorn will officiate.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
