Nancy Sue Vasey, 74, of Maxwell, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at her home in Maxwell. Nancy was born in Elkhart on September 24, 1943, the daughter of Lewis and Carol (Sipling) Albaugh. She graduated from North Polk High School in 1961 and attended Grandview University.

On August 26, 1966, she was united in marriage to Larry George Vasey in Elkhart. Nancy worked 17 years as the City Clerk of Maxwell and was a member of the Maxwell Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, reading,… Read More » crossword puzzles and flowers.

Most of all, she enjoyed her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry of Maxwell; her sons: Lew (Jen) Vasey of Grimes and Brian (Kymberli) Vasey of Maxwell; her grandchildren: Kennedy, Owen, Oliver and Ryli Vasey; and her sister, Gayle Adams of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Phyllis Richards; and her brother, Melvin Albaugh.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 8 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9 at Rock Creek Bible Church in Maxwell with Pastor Jesse Hill officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Private burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at the Maxwell Cemetery in Maxwell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maxwell Legion Auxiliary. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
