The world lost a beautiful soul with the passing of Nathan Charles Tondreau on January 19, 2019. Nate, as he was called by his friends, was born in Milwaukie, Oregon on November 21, 1984. He moved to Oregon City when he was a toddler and lived there his entire life.

He was at home with his family when he passed due to complications from Friedreich’s Ataxia. A graduate of Oregon City High School he earned his AA from Clackamas Community College. Nate worked for a time for the Oregon City School District as an Instructional Assistant.

Nate was a generous person who was always thinking of others. He enjoyed nothing more than searching for the perfect gift for family members and loved seeing their reactions. He especially took great joy finding something special for his niece Presley, who was always excited to get a gift from Uncle Nate.

As a youth he was active in baseball, basketball and soccer. He loved playing outside on the family property, finding snakes, exploring in the woods and getting wet in the creek. Nate loved bowling with his friends and was on the high school bowling team.

He finally had to begin using a wheelchair and spent much of his time playing games on his computer and gaming stations. He became very adept at working with computers and built his own gaming computer. He was the one the family called their “techie” who could always talk his dad Tim through frustrating IT problems.

He is survived by his grandmother Floriene Tondreau, his parents Tim and Karen Tondreau, brother Mat Tondreau (Rochelle), sister Mandi Tondreau-Cowin, (Gavin) and niece Presley Tondreau. His beloved dog Murdoch, who picked Nate out at the Humane Society, is still trying to figure out where Nate has gone. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Oregon Humane Society or Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to: Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance Web: curefa.org/donate Oregon Humane Society 1067 NE Columbia Blvd, Portland OR 97211 Tel: 1-503-285-7722 Web: www.
