Nellie Galindo 82, of San Angelo, TX passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Nellie was born in Big Spring, TX to Manuel and Julia (Trevino) Samaripa. Nellie married Roy Galindo on August 16, 1953 in San Angelo.

Nellie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a past president of the Catholic Parish Council. She taught catechism for 20 years.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Julia Samaripa and her siblings, Emma Samaripa, Lillie Samaripa Luna, and Tommy Samaripa. Nellie is survived by her husband Roy, four children Sylvia Perez, Jimmy Galindo, Diane Eades (Ricky), and Michael Galindo (Paula) and three granddaughters, Kristen Mendiola (Andrew), Megan Eades and Lorena Galindo. Also surviving, her brother, Cecil Samaripa and her sister Margaret Nuncio.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to the staff of Kindred Hospice who provided care to our beloved mom, especially the nurses, Jessica Fisher and Kathy Osborne. Nellie, mom and grandma–you were dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be Arthur Galindo, Clemente Galindo, Juan Reyes, Jr., Gus Castro, Joe Munoz, and Henry Munoz.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian burial is at 10:00 am Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Emilio Sosa, officiating.

Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. If desired, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to West Texas Rehabilitation Center (3001 S. Jackson, San Angelo, TX 76904), Kindred Hospice (112 W. Concho Ave. , San Angelo, TX 76903), or a charity of your choice.
