Obituary for Nellie Mae “Big Cheese” Manley-Johnson Manley-Johnson, Mrs. Nellie Mae “Big Cheese” – age 81, passed away, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Belterra Health and Rehabilitation. Family hour 10:00AM Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, 69 S. Astor St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00 AM. Pastor Derrick McDonald, Officiating; Pastor Al James Terrell, Host Pastor.

Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mrs. Manley-Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St. and may be viewed from Noon – 8:00 PM Tuesday. The family will be present from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Manley-Johnson leaves to cherish her memory devoted children, Ronnie (Loretta) Jones, Sandra Jones, Rhonda Manley, Sharon Manley, Zellie Manley, Courtney Manley, Pamela (Cleve) McGee and Angela (Michael) Shelton; twenty-nine loving grandchildren; sixty-three great grand children and four great-great grandchildren; brother, Arvelle C. (Esther) Jones and other numerous relatives and friends. Mrs. Manley-Johnson was preceded in death by her daughter, Marsha M. Collins; husband, Pastor Thomas Johnson, Jr.; parents, Annie Winters and Willie Jones; grandson, William “Ugg” McGee IV; great grand son, Ayden Jones and great grandson, LeeVonte Motes.
