OBITUARY Nicholas Salvadore Spitale August 2, 1932 – September 1, 2018 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”. 2 Timonthy 4:7 Nick Salvadore Spitale, a resident of Baton Rouge passed away on September 1, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born in Amite, Louisiana on July 14, 1930.

He served in the Army for two years in the Korean War. Mr. Nick retired from Earl K. Long as a X-Ray technician. He loved gardening and caring for his fruit tree and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his two grandsons.

He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine DeBenedetto Spitale of 52 years; daughter, Sabrina Spitale Salpietra and husband Ronald; grandsons, Chase Salpietra, fiance’ Lindsey and Cody Salpietra and wife Courtney; great grand-daughter, Aubery Lynn Salpietra; two brothers, Sam Spitale Jr. and Guy Spitale. Preceded in death, parents Sam and Virginia Campo Spitale; sisters, Mary Spitale Currier and Frances Spitale Perlite and brothers, Tony Spitale and Vince Spitale. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd.

, Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 9:00am until funeral service time of 12:00pm. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include, Chase Salpietra, Cody Salpietra, Ronald Salpietra, Santo Spitale, Louis Spitale and Jeffrey DeBenedetto.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Foundation. The family would like to thank the staff at Amber Terrace Assisted Living and Notre Dame Hospice.
