Norma Zoumis, 96 CAMPBELL – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Fr. Steve Deans officiating for Norma Zoumis, 96, who passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28.

Norma was born Dec. 5, 1922, in Youngstown, the daughter of Michael and Sylvia Mahinis Makarounas. She was a member of the church and the Philotohous Society.

Norma truly loved and cherished her Greek heritage, faith, church, spending time with her family and visiting with friends. She loved to cook Greek food and enjoyed watching Greek movies. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons, Thomas (Irene) Kantaras of Boardman and Michael (Catherine) Kantaras of Campbell; five grandchildren, Anthony (Brittany) Kantaras of Akron, Aris (Maria) Kantaras of Naples, Fla.

, Gus (Lucy) Kantaras of Poland, Michael Kantaras of Boardman and Anthony H. Kantaras of Campbell; three great-grandchildren, Thomas and Anna of Akron, and Emilia of Poland; a brother, Michael Makarounas of Arizona; and nephew, Phillip (Kathy) Makarounas of Reading, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aristidis Zoumis; and a brother, Nick Makarounas. The family would like to send out a heartfelt “thank you” to Southern Care Hospice Services for their support throughout her last months.

She will be deeply missed and will forever hold a place in the hearts of those she touched, and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. May her memory be eternal. If friends desire, donations can be made to the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Norma’s name.

Norma’s family has entrusted her care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive family and friends on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church.
