Norman L. Pralle Norman L. Pralle, 84, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Norman was born January 13, 1934 in Bremen, Kansas, to Dietrich and Johanna Pralle. He came from a large family with two sisters, Olinda Boyd and Della Tuttle and five brothers, Ray, Ralph, Reuben, Edwin and Arthur Pralle.
Norman worked in the Signal Department for the Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years where on one of his excursions, he met and married Miss Carol Johnson. They were married at the Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, Nebraska, on September 5, 1954. They have two lovely daughters, Rhonda Pralle Christie and Lisa Pralle Cahoon.
Rhonda married Dan Christie and blessed their family with two grandsons, Mathew and Nicholas Christie. Mathew married Katie and blessed the family with Cash. Nicholas Christie and Betsy Roedocker blessed the family with two great-grandsons, Brandon and Bryan.
Lisa blessed the family with their only granddaughter, Shawna Cahoon-Tuttle. Norman was an active member of the Christ Lutheran Church. He enjoyed helping friends and neighbors with different jobs such has transporting to doctor appointments, shopping, snow blowing and shoveling.
He also volunteered in numerous community activities including delivering for Meals-on-Wheels and helping with their annual garage sale. He helped Meals-on-Wheels set up their permanent location on Highway 85 while serving as a van driver for SHARE, a local Christian food bank. He was instrumental in laying the first telephone line to the Harriman area and helped plan and develop the District 10 Fire Department.
Norman was a Moose Lodge member and a lifetime member of the Union Pacific Employees Club, serving on its board. Some of his most favorite things to do were elk hunting and camping with his son-in-law, Dan, and grandsons, Mathew and Nicholas Christie, and “poker night” where pickled eggs, pretzels and beer were a mainstay. A memorial service will be celebrated on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Cheyenne.
Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please give donations to Christ Lutheran Church, Meals-on-Wheels or a charity of one’s choice.
