Ofelia Garcia (nee Gonzalez) age 83 of East Chicago, IN passed away Monday, April 23, 2018. She is survived by 7 children: Gilbert (Eva) Garcia, Ricardo Garcia, George Garcia, Elsa (Miguel) Paz, Hector Garcia, Leticia V. Garcia and Jose Garcia; 13 grandchildren: Valerie and Adrienne Garcia, Ricardo, Jr. (Andrea) and Celeste Garcia, Jared Garcia, Ofelia (Ditric Cannon), Jeannette and Raul Frechette, Diana D. Silva and Maximus Adam Silva, Maria Autumn Garcia, Angelina Skylar and Jacob Garcia; 9 great grandchildren: Alize Frechette, Alizah Washington, Aurielle, Azaleah, Ofelia, Abigail, Jalon James Frechette, Maya and Noah Garcia; 4 great great grandchildren, Caleil Z. and Caliyah Z. Ollavarria, Jehoshua and Jeziah Washington; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Cruz Garcia in October, 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 1:30 pm at St. Patrick’s Church, 3802 Grand Blvd. , East Chicago, IN with Rev. David G. Nowak officiating.

Visitation at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd. , East Chicago, IN will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday morning. Ofelia and her husband, Cruz were owners of the Laredo Carry-outs store.
