Obituary for Olean Franklin Cathey OLEAN FRANKLIN CATHEY, age 91 of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on October 22, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Fred C. Franklin & Bessie James Wolfe. Mrs. Cathey retired from Mt.

Vernon Mills and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Herschel Cathey, Jr., daughter, Mary Jane Cathey, great-granddaughter, Christina Hamilton; brothers, Dr. James H. Franklin, William T. Franklin, & Charles F. Franklin. Mrs. Cathey was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anne Cathey Murray & Kent Murray of Cornelia, GA; grandchildren, Lynn Carpenter, Becky & Barry Ramsey, Lisa & Israel Wilson, Lori & Rodney Watts, Mike & Melanie Martin, Deanne & Kevin Belford, Philip & Michelle Murray; great-grandchildren, Cassidy & Jacob Erlewine, Tanner Watts, Chyanne Watts, Madeline Martin, Morgan Martin, Harley & Cade Roberts, Lyli Ramsey, Kendall Belford, Braxton Murray, Noah Sosebee, Peyton Collins, Brianna Collins; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, & other relatives. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2018 from the Clarkesville City Cemetery with Rev. Tim Beasley officiating.
